I believe the 25 y/o age limit for Nuke is only for enlistment. I don't believe that same age limit applies on the OCS side, but I'm not 100% on that. I would definitely confirm though.
For enlisting though, I was accepted as a Nuke (age 24- turn 25 in sept was shipping in oct) and was able to get an age waiver without much trouble. Do well enough on the ASVAB that you don't have to take the Nuke exam! |

I cannot speak of the odds of an age waiver, but mine was approved and I will be 28 at RTC. I created a handwritten statement detailing my interest in NF, and I understand there is a whole-person concept underlying waiver approval.
...I also have a BS in biology, and it did not work out for me as expected, so I can empathize with your want. |

Hi there everybody, newbie here.
I have a similarish question- does anybody have experience with becoming a reactor engineer? Realistically, my chances should at least be reasonable, but I'd like to hear from others who have at least tried. I graduated from college in physics and math, so I shouldn't be too shabby. But, you know, I'm still a bit nervous. |
