Why would we train like the Marines? Our mission is different and the skills and knowledge we need are different.

Navy Officers are trained by Marines.

Actually there are a lot of the same rates the Marines have that the Navy has. They go to the same A and C schools as us, especially on the Air side.

Also the Corpsmen are either "green side" or "blue side." The marines don't have their own medics, so use Navy. (that's why when you see the names of sailors killed in Afghanistan, they are often Hospital Corpsmen.

The marines also fly the fighter jets for the Navy.
