Whatever your sea rotation normally is.. assuming your a corpsman expect 2 years.. idk what RP's do.

Green side billets will take the place of your sea duty.

EDIT: belay my last.. my roommates an 8404.. it's 2 years.

Could you be more specific? E-3 is automatic eventually no matter what rate you are.

maybe it was getting beyond e-3 with all the testing etc. im not actually too sure myself, besides hm promotions are hard to come by.

Are you asking about promotions to HM3?

HM3 was roughly about 13% last cycle.

However, those with sea time or deployments are going to have more going into those cycles than just regular hospital-based HMs.

I wanna be HM but I don't know it is overmanned. Can I wait til a spot opens to get the rate or will I have to wait a year at a different rate like cook before I can request a transfer?

What do you mean? Are you in DEP and picked a rate already? Or you're still in the thinking stage? Are you already active duty as a CS and looking to transfer?

2015 is a good year.. they just stopped taking hms into the navy for a few months and told so many people they cant reenlist.. i imagine itll improve..14% is the best advancement rates weve seen in a while. kind of stoked.. as a fresh boot you may see 20% by the time you go up.
