Same as for any other job...Pay is related to rate not your job. This is the 2012 payscales (per month) for an E4

Years of Service
Less than 2 ---- 1946
Over 2 ---- 2046
Over 3 ---- 2157
Over 4 --- 2267
Over 6 --- 2364

Yes, you can estimate your weekly pay that way.

However, since months aren't exactly 4 weeks long, you'll get a closer estimate by multiplying by 12 and dividing by 52:
$449
$472
$498
$523
$546
(depending on amount of time in)

ALSO your pay is not divided 50/50 between the 1st and 15th. You'll usually get more on the 1st.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about weekly. You get paid on the 1st and 15th of the month, so you will not be getting an influx of cash each week. If you take the pay chart and divide monthly by 2 you will see what your pay will be on each of those days. You'll notice no one goes anywhere or does anything until all of a sudden the 1st or 15th hits and suddenly everyone leaves base and goes into town (the locals will KNOW your pay schedule almost better than you, especially bars and restaurants).

What about with special duty assignment pay and submarine pay added?

Here is the sub pay chart

I'm not sure what you are looking for in special duty assignment pay.

As a nuke, if you Sub Vol AND get a sub as your first permanent duty station, you will receive sub pay as back pay from the time you signed your Sub Vol paperwork. If you Sub Vol and get assigned to surface, you won't see any sub pay at all, as a side note. You can sub vol any time during the training pipeline.

Nukes also get nuke pay once they get to their first Permanent Duty Station (you don't start getting it until you graduate from Prototype). As well as the cash bonus incentive.

Their reenlistment bonuses are a great deal also since Nukes don't stay forever, they want you to reenlist.

Also sub pay.

Current Reenlistment Bonus for Nuke (last I saw a few months back):

Nuke ET - $95,000
Nuke EM - $80,000
Nuke MM - $65,000

This is confusing, because I keep hearing different things about Nuke pay... Some say its more, some say its the same.. And is it also based on rank?

"Nuke Pay", the special money we get every month is the same for everyone; its an incentive pay similar to Hazardous Duty pay.

"Nuke Bonus," is the extra bonus you get for enlisting (I think its $12,000 right now) and/or the extra bonus you get for reenlisting or extending your enlistment (I mentioned those rates earlier). This is based on rate and Qualifications (EM, ET, MM and Sub or Surface)

Everyone gets Basic Pay. That is based on pay grade and time in service. Sea pay and sub pay are also based on pay grade but are also determined by your time on sea/sub duty. "Nuke Pay" is officially called Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP). SDAP is determined by your NEC and the billet you hold. There are 6 different levels of SDAP ranging from $50/month to $450/ month. Holder of basic nuclear operator NEC's assigned to a nuclear billet get $150/month if memory serves me correctly. If you have a supervisory nuclear NEC, you get $275/month. Instructors at A-School/NPS get $375/month and Prototype instructors get $450/month.

Enlistment Bonuses and Re-Enlistment bonuses change all of the time.

If you haven't joined yet and you want a bigger enlistment bonus (if your chosen rate offers one), try to get a ship date from November to May. Those are the months where bonuses are highest (Nobody wants to go to GL when it's cold!). Summer months have the lowest bonuses because that's usually when all of the recent high school grads ship. August -November is usually somewhere in the middle.

Re-enlistment bonuses are based on your rate and how bad the Navy need you to stay. Each rate is assigned a number based on it being a critical billet and that determines the award ceiling (max $$ amount for your bonus). Each rate is then assigned a number called a multiplier that is used in figuring your bonus. The basic formula for calculating a re-enlistment bonus is (base pay) X (multiplier) X (# of months Re-enlisting beyond EAOS/12). You will get penalized for re-enlisting more than 30 days prior to your EAOS. They essentially subtract the # of months you're re-enlisting early from the # of months beyond your EAOS. Like I said, the multiples change frequently and a message will be released when they do. As a nuke, you'll pretty much be able to max out your bonus no matter how early you re-enlist because the multiples are usually high. (Usually between 8 and 10, but I've seen as high as 12.)
