Scroll about halfway down the page, and select CREO listing, open the file in Microsoft Excel and you can go to the bottom of the list and select whether you want Active Duty, PTS, or SELRES

If you are looking for active duty, it hasn't been update since December, so it some things may be different of course, but this is the most recent one that has been released as far as I know

What's your rate?

Mine is undermanned for E1-E4 when that listing was made...My classifier told me that after passing A-school, I would automatically advance to E4(entering as an E3)...According to CREO, my rate is appropriately manned for E5 and E6.

Craig or anybody else who has knowledge on this subject, with a rate that includes accelerated advancement, approximately how long does it take to go from E4 to E5(assuming all requirements have been made and job performance is good)

Im going into the AV program and everything is overmanned, but to answer your question,
Petty Officer Third Class (E-4) - 6 months TIR
• Petty Officer Second Class (E-5) - 12 months TIR
• Petty Officer First Class (E-6) - 36 months TIR
• Chief Petty Officer (E-7) - 36 months TIR

Man you guys are actually really good finding stuff. You are totally correct MForrest. But there is one exception, if you get a Early Promote (EP) evaluation then you can take the advancement test one year early. My son is actually taking his 1st class test next week because of his EP eval.
See this link, page 2-2
http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-np...s/1430.16F.pdf

Not sure if you guys ever saw this, but this is why this CTR made Chief in less than 6 years (which is really, really quick). He had EP evals.

No selres has nothing to do with Active Duty.

Where would I be able to find an updated Creo list? How often do they put that out?

I got the same thing when I tried. I haven't been able to find it under any other site more recent than 2011. Hopefully it will come back up soon.

Your best bet is to forget about the CREO that the Navy rarely updates and look at the individual community profiles that are updated regularly.

That sucks. It says that on average it takes 2.5 years for an HT to advance to E4.

Well if you look at the time-in-rate, assuming you start as an E1, you have to spend 9 months as an E1, 9 months as an E2, and 6 months as an E3 before you can even take the E4 exam, which is only held twice a year, so you may be waiting until the exam is held.

That already is 2 years.

Ok so the 2.5 years is assuming that I would start as an E1. In my case I'll be starting as an E3. So I'll just be waiting to advance to E4 until I take the exam and get the results?

You should be elligable to take the test after you have the time in and finished your A school training..then it is a matter of evaluations, points and your score on the test and how many are they allowing to promote that time around and how many are ahead of you...many times people pass everything, but the numbers allowed to promote dont make it happen, so you have to try again the next time. Not very often do you promote on the first time to test.
