Great Restaurant in Great Lakes-"The Full Moon" & "Flanagan"
Just wanted you guys to know of two good restaurant in Great Lake that you can have your parents/spouse go the day before you PIR. It's call the "The Full Moon" & "Flanagan's". Prices are good, and the food is good at both. The Full Moon is located right across the street from Mc'Donald. You cannot get booze, just food. However, you could also go to Flanagan's, which is right on Buckly Road. Personnally, I like the food at The Full Moon better, but I like the atmosphere and booze at Flanagan's.

I agree...both are very good and the service is great! Ross really likes Potbelly's which is a sub shop and it's on 43 between the base and Interstate 94. It's good and very inexpensive.

When you're out and about that weekend, don't forget real Chicago style pizza. Here is our favorite:

We didn't make it to Flanagans, but did have the Pizza!! It was so good and so much food!!
We got to GL in time for Flanagans, but the hotel had food and we had just spent several hours in Chicago traffic getting there and wanted to eat right away! We just had to go to the American Girl Place in Chicago! Where did your sailor take you for lunch after PIR? We went to Chili's at Gurnee Mills! |

I grew up in that area....and what's so funny to me is that after bar closing all of us always headed to the Full Moon for breakfast (at 2:30 a.m.) cause that's the only time we'd eat there. Flannigans wasn't even on the radar back then. My son was also a grad-n-go but we were supposed to meet a bunch of folks from NP for dinner and no one showed. We did go to Flannigans after eating and did meet 3 folks whose kids were PIR with Michael, so that was nice. I do miss a lot of the Chicago area restaurants even to this day though.....
