Elliptical Choice?

Hi guys! I'm due to ship out to boot camp next month and had a question about the PRT.

When I do the PRT, will I be able to choose the elliptical instead of running? Or do I have to get some kind of waiver?

At RTC and many A Schools, you'll have to run it. It's ultimately up to the commanding officer, so your future commands may authorize it.

You don't get those options until you're at your actual command. It's up to the CO if he wants to authorize it as well. At my command you get the options to run it, elliptical, stationary bike, treadmill, or swim.

I just had my 6-month mark PFA yesterday and passed with flying colors. The base across RTC, TSC, is similar to RTC. We still had to run, AND they keep a tracker on you too, just like in boot camp.
It really depends on your next command after RTC and what they want you to do with your PRTs. TSC just so happened to be like RTC.
