IS enlistment bonus
I was looking at the BUPERS site for SELRES manning ( http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-np...cuments/IS.pdf ). It says that there is an enlistment bonus pending. Does anyone know anything about this?

Well, from looking at the charts, it's probably because they're planning to increase the manning levels in the next few years.
But you can only get an enlistment bonus if you sign when it's available. CTI's bonuses changed while I was in DEP, and although my recruiter tried, he couldn't get it for me. |

Thanks for the info jzhaun. Do you know if there is a certain time of year when these bonuses are approved, or is it just whenever they decide to pass them?

I signed my contract alittle over a year and a half ago. bonus for reserves was 5k. no bonus for active. when bonuses do come out they usually go to the higher ranks E5+ because they want to keep you. as you can see by the chart they wont let you leave the rate.. cross rating out of IS is like the rarest thing.

Okay, I found the instruction:http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-np...3/NAV13301.txt
Non prior IS is tier 4: initial payment of $2500 and 5 anniversary payments of $500. That should be current, and it lines up with gameingkine's experience. |
