Default Navy Boot Camp PT?

What is PT like? I leave in september so I have quite a bit of time, but I am in pretty good shape. (6:47 mile time, 80+ situps and 50+ pushups) I was just wondering if PT is intense enough to keep me where im at, (and who knows where ill be in september I want my mile in the 5s) I workout everyday and eat right.

Thanks Guys New to the Forum

I work out everyday and I have been told I will lose alot of what I have worked so hard for. That was coming from a Navy CFL. he said he lost almost a minute on his mile and a half and put on 20lbs. Kind of disappointing

If you consider your current level to be in-shape, then you will leave RTC out of shape... it's not at all intense.

If that's the case I'll just stick with a diet plan there and steer away from the bad foods. Its a shame that its not all that intense but I suppose that's one of the prices we have to pay to make it through boot. Maybe we should look for IT to get an actual workout lol

it's probably designed for people like myself that isn't in the best of shape. I imagine most people falls into my category lol.

Wow this thead sucks.... well atleast the info in it. Not intense and I will gain weight. That sucks, thats why they make you make weight before you go - for the bloat factor of bootcamp lol.

Join the Army or Marines if you want a physical boot camp

You wont gain weight unless you start eating a lot and not working off the extra calories. If you manage your eating you shouldn't gain much at all. I left a bit stronger and I lost 5 lbs. Wasn't much, but definitely noticeable. Just don't eat ice cream, cookies, or the 900 calorie pizza all the time and you will do fine. Also from what I've experienced is that if you want to get a half decent work out in boot camp, apply yourself to every workout and you will notice that the PT and IT aren't so bad. Plus you can PT at night for 30 min to an hour if you'd like. Good luck to you all!

No thanks. I'd rather put up with the non-physical bootcamp rather than join another branch. I think I will like the program that i'm in
