Recently Graduated!
Hey everyone so I graduated boot camp February 7th and I flew out the next day to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio for my A school as a Hospital Corpsman. You can ask me any questions you'd like and I'll answer them the best I can!

Advice: Mentally prepare to have absolutely no privacy for the next 2 months. You will sleep, shower, eat, and train with 90+ other people, and it's constant. Just listen. That's the biggest thing you can do to help yourself. Your RDCs will give you *literally* everything you need to be successful. Remember that no matter how much they yell and get on your or your division that they are doing it to help you. They want you to do well because it looks better on them. I can guarantee that the thing your division will get yelled at all throughout boot camp for is talking, there isn't much you can do about that. Short of that, just try to do everything right the first time. Follow instructions. Pay attention to the little details. Also, SLEEP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Especially right before you leave. Sleep at the hotel at MEPS. Sleep on the airplane to Chicago. Take every opportunity you can to get sleep, because you will wish you did later, I promise you. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask

Yeah if your flying out you only have Friday to be with your family. My flight was at 2 pm but the bus picked us up at 5:30 am. We were at the USO for hours so you can be with your family then too if they want. There were other people who had to leave at midnight it all depends on the location of your A school

Thank you! If you look past the yelling and all of the folding I actually liked boot camp. Just the things you learn like firefighting, shooting a 9 mom pistol, marching and so much more make the whole thing great. You will also meet great people too. Be prepared to fold ALOT its so much folding its crazy and there's a lot of "hurry up and wait." They will rush u and then make u wait an hour just to do something. Make sure u just listen, don't talk, do as you're told and remember that its a mind game. Make sure u know how to swim and run because people got sent back in training or just missed a lot of important classes. You're gonna learn so much. The way I see it I hated it like it sucked but just learning the things we did and meeting the friends I have now just make it awesome. In A school now we all just laugh about everything haha
