Congrats Sailor. Here are some questions future sailors might want to know...

1. What is the food like? If you were to give an example what was your favorite foods to eat (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)? Are there vegetarian options?

2. Hardest part of bootcamp?

3. I hear there are 3 tests you have to pass? What information is held on each test?

4. What is a typical schedule like each day? including breaks if you get any in between?

5. Strangest things you encountered in Bootcamp from your other fellow recruits? Stories? or weird things you may have seen or heard?

6. How often do they make you scream?

7. What is something you would have done better now that you graduated and look back at?

8. What was the oldest age in your division and young?

9. Did anyone stand up during Moment of Truth or were dropped from Bootcamp?

Congrats on making it out of bootcamp! I do have a few questions on top of the ones asked above.

1) How often did you get to contact people back home after your initial first phone call?
2) How was sleeping? Was it difficult to get enough sleep?
3) How was the shower situation? Was it as awkward as people make it out to be?
4) Did boot seem to go by quick? Or drag out?
5) What would you suggest studying up on before leaving for boot?
6) When did Sunday liberty start? How much time did you have and what all could you do?

[QUOTE=JakeC;59638]Congrats on making it out of bootcamp! I do have a few questions on top of the ones asked above.

1) How often did you get to contact people back home after your initial first phone call?

3 times over the course of 8 weeks, but rdc's give phone calls away for winning competitions. Example- I won a speed buttoning and folding competition and got a 15 min phone call.

2) How was sleeping? Was it difficult to get enough sleep?

For me sleeping sucked. I'm the lightest sleeper ever. I actually paid another recruit $20 for ear plugs. My rack was also right next to the head. Bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. They're a game changer.

3) How was the shower situation? Was it as awkward as people make it out to be?

I didn't find it awkward. It is what it is.

4) Did boot seem to go by quick? Or drag out?

Went by really fast once out of p days.

5) What would you suggest studying up on before leaving for boot?

Chain of command, rank and recognition, sailors creed and general orders.

6) When did Sunday liberty start? How much time did you have and what all could you do?

After we graduated on Friday we had from 1230-2100 liberty to go anywhere you want. I also had Saturday liberty so I took the train into Chicago with some friends and explored.

Thank you. Eye exam took 5 min. I thought it was going to be a big process but they basically had me read letters with my glasses on and do some depth and color blind test. A week later I had military glasses.
