Ship 5
My son called this evening, the dreaded 5 minute call that he had been moved to ship 5. He's been there 10 days, 10 whole days, and they diagnosed him with an "unspecified depressive disorder". My 18 year old, who just proposed to his girlfriend and was finally fulfilling the dream he'd had since he was 11. No RE code yet, obviously, so I have no clue what his recourse will be. He sounded so dejected that he may not even want to fight.

Sorry to hear this...hopefully you will be able to talk to him again before he signs the paperwork to be discharged...depending on what the diagnoses it and the RE code...it is possible to re-enlist to maybe some other branch of the military...
