It works the same for all rates that go across the street for A school.

After you graduate, you will go back to the compartment to get your stuff and they will bus you over to the other side of the base, where you will check in to your barracks. You will then be marched out to the front gate to meet your family at the visitors center.

You will have liberty until 2200 on Friday, and 0600 to 2200 on Saturday and Sunday. You will have to be in NSU's when you go off base. No alcohol and no civies.

ATT isnt too bad. I finish up in a week and it has been real easy. If you have questions on something ask your instructors, go to open learning when you can. If you have any questions about A-school ill be glad to answer them when i find out more about it, but ive heard it is the same just study and ask questions when needed.

Most of the guys found out about week 6 or 7 if you are allowed on BUPERS when you go to a computer lab or when you get your Orders at the brief just before PIR. ATT is basically the same for ET and FC, it is just a little longer for ET. You get and estimated length when you go to the detailer at BC and then your actuall length when you go to your indoc for it. Right now ET is 11 weeks and FC is 10 weeks.

Are cell phones and other electronic allowed during att. And would you happen to know when dependents are allowed to move up to gl?

You can have a cell phone while on base, but not on duty (actually on watch or at muster) or in school. That goes for all electronics, including flash drives and such. Im not to sure on the dependents, I know that when we were getting ready to march out after the Lib brief that friday when we got to the barracks they were asking who had dependents that were going to move up and told them to get in contact with a certain person when they had a chance over the weekend or on monday. One guy in my class had his family up here by the second week of class, so about three weeks but there have been a few people that it only took a week or so. It all depends on how soon you talk to the Live-Ashore person and can have your family move.

Also, if you or your spouse have any questions about becoming a live ashore, feel free to message me. I am currently living in Great Lakes, and will be transferring to Dahlgren in October.

If your question is unrelated to the original post, please start a new post.

However, in answer to your question, no it doesn't give you any particular advantage.
