Default Pictures of Officer Training Command, Newport, RI

Newport, RI. The base is the left half of the picture, OTC is the bottom left area.

Old Nimitz Hall (this building was retired in 2013)

New Nimitz Hall (this building was opened in 2013)

The "bridge to freedom" (this is the one way off the island, and you can see it from nearly everywhere on base)

That is a very open ended question.... What do you want to know?

I was always taught to ask open ended questions. Just what would someone expect to go through have Marine DIs instead of Navvy RDCs?

You have a class team made up of a Navy RDC, Marine DI, and Navy LT.
It's a 12 week program. The first 3 weeks are the more intense indoctrination. The middle 6 week block is the academic phase (naval history, engineering, navigation - stuff link that). The last 3 weeks are applied leadership, where you are actually teaching and leading the newest class through indoctrination.

I am a corpsman here at the clinic in Newport. I really enjoy when the OCS kids fall asleep. I like to let them get reall comfortable and then yell "Good morning Gunny!" because the panic real hard. Or i just pretend i am sleeping too and like snore real loud while sitting next to them. Because they get it good, they get to drink and use their cell phones for their bootcamp.
