Flag Writer?
Anyone have information about being a Flag Writer?
Seen this mentioned in various documentation for YN, but wanted to know more about it. Thanks. |

They're usually senior YNs (Chiefs, maybe 1st classes). It's one of the YN shore duty billets.
They draft documents/speeches for their admiral.

Get ready to re-up at least twice, then...you won't make the paygrade much sooner, and you definitely won't be up to put words in an admiral's mouth until you're well proven.

I'd expect if you're motivated to make E4 on the first shot, and if you're real lucky you could make E5 on the first shot too, if your scores and eval were good. It is for hard charging, motivated YNs, sustained superior performance is required.
