Default YN to LN

So I selected to be a YN in hopes of transitioning to an LN due to my degree; however I am wondering how the advancement is as an LN. While being a YN would leave my job more open instead of being limited to legal work, is it better to keep my rate or would LN still hold a pretty decent career opportunity for advancement?

From the looks of the Enlisted Community Managers for both rates, advancement would be slightly better as an LN. But YN's undermanned through Zone C and has no convert-out options at all at present.

There's a lot of overlap between the rates, although LN is a bit more specialized.
