Default Cadence running

What cadence's if any do you learn at basic or does it just depend on your RDC?

Depends on your RDC. My division did the grandma cadnece, momma momma cadence, and a few others. It also depends on your athletic po. Because they have to learn the cadence first.

My division didn't do any cadences until our last PT. Our Chief wanted us to appear as "professionals". I was in an 800 division though.

Here's a cadence we used a lot at boot and A school...

Left left, left right left
Left, let's go, keep it in step
Lo right left right
Left right lo right
We love to double time
We do it all the time

When I say one, you say two
When I say PT, you say for you
One, two
PT, for you

When I say three, you say four
When I say PT, you say some more
One, two
PT, for you
Three, four
PT, some more

When I say five, you say six
When I say PT, you say for kicks
One, two
PT, for you
Three, four
PT, some more
Five, six
PT, for kicks

When I say seven, you say eight
When I say PT, you say it's great
One, two
PT, for you
Three, four
PT, some more
Five, six
PT, for kicks
Seven, eight
PT, it's great!

When I say nine, you say ten
When I say PT, you say again
One, two
PT, for you
Three, four
PT, some more
Five, six
PT, for kicks
Seven, eight
PT, it's great!
Nine, ten
PT, again!

During A-School we had some pretty good ones. Had a Marine who would take all of the popular songs and turn them into "Left, Right" cadence. Also, had a BUD/S drop out who sang their cadences. Some AE made up a few cadences on the go. Also remember running to Ke$ha's "Tik Tok".

During basic training, there is a set list of cadences you are allowed to march to, and you are only allowed to use them after you pass at least one drill exam. The running cadences during PT will all depend on your RDC.

http://army-cadence.com/Navy-Running-Cadence.php
From that list I remember: Man of Steel, Here We Go, My Dog Blue. I also remember Momma Momma, C-130, and They Say In The Navy.

Our recruiter hands us different cadences and everyone has to do one as we do our group pt. Makes running a lot more enjoyable.

Interesting fact: running while calling cadence is actually harder on your body and breathing than just running silently, so by practicing your running while calling cadence, you strengthen your lungs which will make breathing and running without cadence (such as on a PFA) even easier.

I just graduated boot camp a few weeks ago...we sang Hey Sailor, Steamroller, Mama Mama, Let Em Blow....my favorite was Navy Colors.

Navy Colors
Colors of White
To Show the world
That we can fight

Navy Colors
Colors of Red
To Show the world
The blood we've shed

Navy Colors
Colors of Blue
To show the world
That we are true

Navy Colors
Colors of Gold
To show the world
That we are bold

Navy Colors
Colors of Green
To show the world
That we are mean

Navy colors
Colors of Black
To show the world
That we fight back
