Question NAPT Qualifications...

So, I'm supposed to ship out with the rating of IT on August 28th, but I was thinking of taking the NAPT, I was curious if anyone knew whether or not I need to take it at least a certain number of time before I ship? Because I'm not positive when I'll be able to go to MEPS to take it.

If you are thinking of going to nuke, talk to your recruiter. He/she will know what you need and when you must take the test as they have to arrange it. As if you switch now, your contract will have to be changed prior to shipping, and it WILL change your ship date as well.

I would talk with your recruiter about that on Monday! If you take the NAPT, let me know how it is ;)

The NAPT isn't too bad. If you are interested in Nuke, you definately need to talk to your recruiter ASAP. If you qualify nuke, you'll have no problem getting the contract usually. It will change your ship date, but make sure whatever rate you choose its the one you want. There's a little truth in the old saying, "choose your rate, choose your fate". Though it has more to do with your attitude about the job than the job itself.

Alright, thanks! I tried to talk to him on Monday and he said to just talk to him at the DEP meeting tomorrow. I'm fine with my ship date being changed, so that's not a problem with me. I think no matter what you're doing your attitude has quite a lot to do with it. Thank you for your input!
