Default Process: start to finish

Is it possible to choose a day to ship out to basic?

I was thinking of going to talk to a recruiter next week, and ask a few questions and then start all the paperwork I need to do. I know the process takes a while (right), and my weight is going to set me back anyway...

Or should I wait until I'm where I need to be weight wise, and then start talking to a recruiter.

They probably won't do much of anything until your within weight standards. They may give you info but that's about it.

At meps you pick two things (but neither is guaranteed) your job and your ship date. The more flexible you are about one, the more likely to be able to pick the other.

I'm pretty sure Guppy responded to the wrong thing.

They won't start anything until you lose a lot of weight. Maybe when you get to within 10 lbs or so they will start, after they see that you really have the motivation.

Sorry, I was responding to the first part of the question.

I do believe this might be a joke - 90 pounds is a lot. But anyhow, even if you are not within weight standards you will be taped and you body fat will be calculated. We had a few overweight recruits but it wasn't a biggie. My weight was over the limit with 22% body fat. Everybody is different.

Back in my day, when I joined, I was 70 pounds over, went to dep program for a year, lost 10 pounds in a year there, then when I went to boot camp I was still 60 pounds over, but when u over they "tape" u( your stomach and neck) to check your body fat... However I lost 50 pounds in the two months I was at boot camp...
