Default Wallet or no Wallet?

Hey Everyone,

So I starting thinking the other day...do most people take their wallets to RTC with them? I know you have to have your DL and social with you, but I'm guessing you will leave your credit/debit cards, etc at home. If you take your wallet...do they let you keep it in your rack or is it sent home in "the box?" Thanks for the advice!! I'm trying to get organized with what I'm taking and what I'll need to have my parents bring after PIR.

I believe you can bring one. I plan on bringing one so I have a place for my driver's license, SS ID, and my phone card. If they don't allow it, I'd rather just send it home from there.

You can bring your Debit/ATM cards when you go, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to keep that, your social, and ID together in a wallet.

I'm cleaning out my wallet and only leaving my DL, SSC, and my debit card then taking it with me when I ship. I'm sure they won't care if you have a wallet.

Does the same thing go for a women's wallet?

Well, as long as it is small and flat...so not a purse.

You can keep your wallet, I kept mine and its where I kept a list of phone numbers home (also in my address book, but doubles don't hurt, never know when you'll need them), kept my ID's and cards, money, and stamps all in my wallet, and a phone card. When it came time for ricky heaven I just grabbed my wallet and I was good to go. Its up to you though if you bring it or not, I think it keeps things more organized and in one spot in your A&B drawer (there's so much stuff in there by the end, its convenient when your cards IDs and phone numbers are all in one spot), but its up to you. A wallet won't go in the box for sure.

That gives me another idea. Would a moneyclip be a good idea instead of a wallet? I noticed the pockets in the service dress uniform (crackerjacks) are pretty small and might not fit a wallet; would a moneyclip be a better option for that situation? I would just have my DL, SSN card, debit card, phone card, and folded piece of paper with addresses.

If you want to then yes but I can guarantee your wallet will fit in the dress blue or white pockets but remember during bootcamp your wallet stays in your a/b drawer unless your told otherwise

It can be any color (the NEX sells some that are the blue navy cammo that are pretty nice) and a wallet does fit in dress blues, mines pretty bulky and it fits in mine. You'll only have your wallet in dress blues on PIR day though (in boot that is).
