LES
At boom camp when they go over the LES is there a option to set up your Thrift Savings Plan % or do they kinda just choose it themselves for you until you can access your mypay? Also does the military match a percentage of what goes into there?

They will walk you through setting up your TSP while in boot camp, the amount you contribute will always be up to you. You will chooses between either a set dollar amount or a percentage of pay, as well as between Roth or traditional. The military does not match anything you contribute.

There's an online computer class that you take during boot camp... it's under "NKO" and it talks about LES, mypay, whatnot.

I already know my LES and about mypay I just wasn't really sure how the TSP was set. But that cool that they actually have a course dedicated to LES, MyPay & TSP.

Yes you get a paper form to fill out to setup your TSP account in boot, then after you can change it on Mypay.
