http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5735 A lot of CT work is pretty similar, but each branch has its own special flavor of work. Honestly though, I would do this job for free if I didn't have to worry about bills. I love it that much. /r CTT1 |

well i know just from where i work that CTR's generally stay on the shore going NIOC to NIOC. CTT's theres not a lot of them out there. small rate but i only know one of them and hes headed to a ship. so if you wana stay on land, which no SAILOR should, CTR would be the way to go.. CTT seems intresting tho

That's not quite accurate. Both CTR's and CTT's are on almost every combat ship in the fleet, as well as DIRSUP'd to Submarines as well. You will absolutely be going to sea as either rate within your first 2 duty stations (short of some freak situation). CTT's manage the Anti-Ship Missile Defense (ASMD) and ELINT duties for ships at sea, and CTR's are down in SESS performing COMINT duties. So both rates are heavily involved with operations onboard the ship. /r CTT1 |

My friend is retired CTR Chief and spent fair amount of time on ships, from carriers to destroyers. From what I've read online the CT rate that stays mostly on shore is CTN.

CTN's do have some Spec War opportunities (as all CT's do), but the opportunity to go to sea is pretty limited as a N-brancher. /r CTT1 |
