Not going to lie, having somebody dress up in pads from head to toe and then being able to beat them with sticks sounds a bit fun!

Pepper spray is not part of boot camp correct? Just the confidence chamber? Or does everybody get the chance for painful eyes?

just the gas chamber in bootcamp, which wasnt nearly as bad as pepper spray for me, the gas chamber didnt really bother me to much, all i got was a runny nose and a little stinging in the eyes, but i have had problems with my eyes for years.

I have contacts, so I understand eye pain. Every time an eyelash gets underneath, my whole world turns upside down lol

yeah i do too, and my eyes dont tear naturally as much as they are supposed to, so they're always dry and the littlest things make them itch and burn so much.

I hear afterward that pouring milk on your eyes helps neutralize the acid in the pepper spray. But I'm guessing anything really that is heavy alkaline would do they job.

I would suggest that you do NOT wear your contacts for that one event at your A school!

i want to get lasik so bad, but im not sure if there is anything you can really do before, its going to hurt like a bitch to no matter what, afterwards they have you wash your face and eyeballs with johnson & johnson no tears baby soap, it was decent, im sure there are better ways out there, but it helped.

There is no "making pepper spray easier". It doesn't work like that. Milk afterwards helps, they also make OC removal wipes, haven't tried them though so idk if they work. The point is, you're gonna get sprayed if you are an MA or if you do the FP Training (which not everyone does!!!!).

I've had the wonderful experience of being OCed twice in the past: once for certification in the academy, and once when I was wrestling a DUI suspect on a boat and my partner missed his target... full-force in the face; eyes and mouth open... and I still had an angry drunk guy I had to restrain on the bow of a 25ft power boat! It sucked! Best way to cope with it is to flush your face and eyes with water, and then stand in front of a fan and let it dry out... don't keep flushing your eyes because it'll just intensify again.

Another thing to remember: when you shower that night, you'll still have some residue on your face and in your hair (not sure how much hair you'll have at that point in training). When you shower off, make sure to bend way forward or way backward to keep the water from running down your body... in other words, protect your nether regions!

haha yeah, i'll never forget in a school, when sitting at the smoke pit after OC, and multiple guys came down nearly in tears "my junk is fire dude" haha, dont be a dumbass, its water activated, so as long as you still have residue on you, its going to burn alllll over again. and use cold water, and wash your face and head off multiple times first, then shower.

No, everyone does the same thing in boot camp, a divisions master at arms is very different than the rate of master at arms. In boot, the division MA is in charge of cleaning. Other than recruit leadership (RPOC, AROC, MA, etc), which is chosen kind of at random (not based on rate), everyone does exactly the same thing.

A School was interesting.... It has started getting more intense in the disciplinary area, people keep messing up in big ways there. My advice don't break the rules it sounds simple but people will still do it and everyone is blamed. And when it comes to OC, wash, fan your face, and eat lots of candy. Nothing is going to make the burn any better and the instructors will say so.
