START Guide Chain Of Command.
I got a brand new start guide yesterday from the recruiting office because the old one messed up. I looked at the chain of command and noticed something seemed different as I've been studying it for quite a while. The new one has the vice president but doesn't have cheif of naval personnel like the previous one did. Now I'm just wondering if I should go by the previous one I had or the new one I got because I'm not really sure which one is the newest version although something tells me it's the vice president one. Anyone know which is the updated version? I just want to study the correct one.

I'm pretty sure the Commander of Naval Service Training Command will change some time soon since Captain Fink is listed as "Acting Commander."

I didn't think the Vice President was considered a part of CoC? Vice President is not listed in Start book?

Yea I also got a letter from a recruit last month and it's the same as the one you just posted except the names are a bit different. I guess I'll just stick with that one for now. Thanks man.

Well, I stand corrected.
In any case here's the URL for the Chief of Naval Personnel website so when the names do change they will be listed here. http://www.navy.mil/cnp/index.asp

Seriously, do not worry about it. When you get there, the current chain of command will be provided for you. You'll write it in your trainee guide, and you will spend HOURS almost every day staring at it. I guarantee you, you're not doing yourself any favors learning names now. Frankly, it might even change while you're there, too.

Commander, Naval Services and Training Command changed earlier this week.
Focus more on the titles than the people because it changes so frequently, and could very well change while you're there.

Yeah I noticed the discrepancies in the titles and names listed above smh; just study the titles in your START guide, they'll correct you at RTC if any needs to be added/removed

Focus on your general orders, and rank and recognition if you want to impress. Everything else will be beaten into your head. Learn the phrase "Belay my last senior chief, I meant no disrespect, I didn't see the star". Because that shit is impossible to see on NWU's when your well rested. And you won't ever be well rested. Whatever you do, don't say "I'm sorry" or you really will be.
