Advancement for ATF (IS) Question
So I am a future IS which is in the ATF and signed a 6 year contract. My question is will I get auto advancement out of either Boot Camp, A School, or C School? I didn't see anything saying it in my contract under guarantees. But I found this and it talks about auto advancement. http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-np...s/1510-030.pdf
Can someone help me out on this? Thanks! |

I can Easily talk about this cause i am this lol. i pick up my auto in 4 months. so if you go to boot E1 you will be promoted to E2 the day of grad so you wont have e2 stripes on. then you will wait 9 months to pick up E3. 6 months later you put on E4. now you cannot pick up E4 while in school so if you go to A/C school as a E3 you will not put on E4 until you have about a week at your Ultimate command

Thanks, how do you like being an IS? And how is A/C school? And I will be an E2 out of bootcamp even though it's not in my contract?

ATF is just a auto E2 after boot. schools diff for everyone. people who quit or think they will get by or dont study are out quickly. dropped and rerated. you will go to class more than i ever did when i was in college. theres 4 C schools so it depends on which one you get. Personally i like the job even tho i dont use anything i did in school for it

What's the difference between a normal IS and an ATF-IS?

ATF has a guaranteed C school following A school if I recall correctly.
