Ok im a active ISSA, graduated out of C school 3 months ago.
Yes we are Auto E-4. you sign a 6 year contract and you make E4 after being TIME IN RATE. so if your leaving for boot as a E1 you will be auto promoted to E2 the day your grad boot. 9 months later you make E3 and 6 months later you can put on your E4.

You will not. Not make E4 while in school. they will not give you E4 at school. regardless of how long your there.

A school is like 3 months and some change and then you will pick your orders and NEC (C School) 2 weeks before you grad. now the C school and your ULT duty station are pared. you cant mix and match them. my c school was 6 weeks. the other 3 c schools are 8 weeks and 4 months. the A school and C school are in the same building.

You will march to class. if you fail class they will set you back.. to many set backs (like 2- 3) they kick you out of the rate.

If you cannot speak in public you should probably learn now.. your graded on how well you can brief.

and when we brief we dont move our feet, or hands. we look around the room and speak with a loud positive voice and we utilize a pointing stick with a Look Point Turn Talk method..

in C school we kinda toss half that briefing style out the window and make it less robotic but the instructors upstairs will teach you their own way really.

As for the Reserves you will not pick orders. you will get your orders cut by the lady downstairs and your reserve center will pick what NEC you get. you will pick nothing. Once at your center its really up in smoke. some centers deploy some do not. some have you do IS work some will make you a Temp Yeomen and you will do Admin paperwork or security clearances.
