Are you simply still a potential CTT just on an airplane when volunteering for aircrew? Thanks.
You're still a CTT... you'll just be assigned to VQ-1 up in Whidbey Island and fly on EP-3E Aries II aircraft. As far as I know, you won't have the opportunity to volunteer until sometime near the end of A School when it comes time to get orders... if there are Aircrew orders, you'll move over to NAS Pensacola for Naval Aircrew Candidate School, then go to SERE in Maine or California, and then report to VQ-1. Any contract you have as a CTT should remain valid as VQ-1 is a CTT billet... you're just volunteering to fly as a CTT, and agree to undergo the special training required. Does that make sense?
