If you do not hold your new shipmate accountable who will? You are only failing him by letting him slide. You should push them to want to better themselves and by not"grading" them properly you are not doing your job. It isn't like our PFA standards are difficult to pass. If they can't pass them maybe the Navy isn't for them.
