Cadence calls
Now, I know in boot camp one of the jobs is to be the person who calls cadences. I've seen a video of a cadence at the end of RTC and it sounds like it's completely improv'd. Can the cadence caller just say random stuff like sing a song or does it have to be one that's been done before? Just curious.

There are specific cadence that are supposed to be used.
Sometimes that happens, sometimes it doesn't. |
haha okay. How do they memorize them?! It seems really difficult to do on top of what they learn at boot camp anyways.

The ARCPO will get a list of the cadences. There are also rules to singing them. Like, when and where and what days you can sing them. If you don't do it when you are allowed, good chance you will get a street hit. And you don't want one of those. I can type you out a few cadences if you like...

There's also a set of CDs called Run to Cadence with the US Navy. You can download it from Amazon or iTunes.
it's good running motivation on those days you really don't want to go running. |
Here's a great thread all about cadence at boot camp, including some of the words. Enjoy!
