Ortho Techs can get stationed overseas but they are always in a hospital setting or maybe a bigger clinic. You will not get deployed as in boots on ground as an Ortho tech, in order to do that you would have to take a deployment outside of your NEC. They pretty much stay at the big 3 : Walter Reed, NMC Portsmouth, and NMC San Diego. This does not however limit them to these threeplaces only. Any of the other hospitals both stateside and overseas should have Ortho techs and there may be some larger clinics that do as well. I was an HM for almost 4 years, in CTN school now though. I spent my first tour working in the Ortho Department at NMC Portsmouth and have a couple friends who are/were Ortho Techs.

I could of sworn one of the HMs i know did a deployment on the Mercy as an Ortho tech...

Yeah it is possible on the Mercy, but the Mercy is not your typical Navy ship. It is a floating hospital basically. I meant Ortho Techs do not generally go boots on ground with the Marines. So yeah I could see that being likely, but as for dity stations Ortho Techs pretty much stay at the hospitals. I am hesitant to say every single case is like that as it is the Navy and anything can happen orders wise, but as a general rule they stay at hospital.s

Does any of you use some orthopedic things in everyday life. I cannot think of anything else than my back pack and mattress. I read a lot about things that contribute to your well-being http://www.lacartes.com/business/Ortorex/1874979. So it is interesting to know what things other people find useful to have at hand. So what do you use to keep your body healthier?
