CT and Pets? Off-Base Housing? Dual-Military?

Bit of a weird one, but I haven't been able to find anything beyond navy regulations and since CT is a little *secretive*, I was wondering if anyone knew the policy on pets and housing?

Obviously, I'm not referring to when I'm on a ship, but otherwise, would I be able to live off base and subsequently have a pet?

Additionally, would the Navy try to keep my spouse (HMDA) and I together for tours, when possible?

Thanks ahead of time!

Being a CT doesn't have anything to do with housing or pets or anything ^_^ You can have your own place and live there just like you would anywhere else. (Unless you're living in the barracks or something). As a junior Sailor you'll almost certainly start in the barracks (depending on duty station/assignment/etc), so living there you'll be subject to their restrictions. But once you start getting a housing allowance (typically at E5, but some commands will authorize it at E4) you can move out in town where you'd like.

On the dual military couple front, the policy is spelled out in MILPERSMAN 1300-1000. They'll do what they can to keep you guys together, but they can't make promises for specific duty stations and distances.
