LOL Completely random question...
 

This popped into my mind as I was clipping my fingernails tonight... How does that work in bootcamp? Do they have us buy clippers or something? My fingernails grow kind of fast and I HATE having long ones. I mean, obviously they will let us cut our nails, but yea... idk. I guess I was just curious haha

That's actually a real good question I just clipped mine right now and if it's one thing I hate it's having long fingernails.

Toenails.

You get clippers as part of your ditty bag issue on your night of arrival

I tend to forget about my toenails sometimes. One time I was clipping them and I actually broke the clippers because the nail was too strong.

I hate having long toenails as well as fingernails. They ruin socks! Bahahah. But yea, they are very strong...

I always seem to cut my toenails too short. I like saying the word "toenail" too. Toenail. hehe

I sometimes get like minor ingrown toenails. Those suck to clip. Hahah this post is just funny to me now. "Toenail"

Clippers (like stated above) You get like day 1. You get shaving cream and a razor and all this random stuff. You can even purchase better shampoo and deodorant if your RDC's allow it. Clip at night. :) You have time... kinda. haha

Good to know! In my head I was wondering like... when are small things like this supposed to happen?? Hopefully I get cool RDC's then :P

You can also use some of your Sunday holiday routine time to catch up on stuff like that

They dont like to smell people so maybe haha

You get them within a few hours. U put boxes together with ur ship mates and make sure evrythings in it and its a pretty lengthy process. But u get all ur first things (smirfs, underwear, bras, sweats, shoes, hi-gene items, notebooks, locks, etc in the first night) and uniforms come later.

Shaver is luxury. Most rdcs take them away.

All good to know! I'm okay with not being able to shave my legs that often. Haha

I usually just clipped my nails at night after taps. We were allowed to shave our legs on Sundays, but you really stop caring about that 'cause you have a million other things to think about.

Could you imagine what your nails would look like after 8 weeks if you never cut them? Nasty.

I know right? These are the images that were going through my mind as I tried to figure out when I might have time to cut them. Haha

Luckily I think they've thought of just about everything, so it's good they give you some clippers.(:

I have issues with cutting every one of my finger nails too short. Feels like I'm shooting lightning out of my fingertips.
