ET, EM, and MM

So what are the differences between each of the ratings, I'd like to know what's what in the world of the marvelous navy nuke before i have to make my rating choice list. Because, if I'm not mistaken, they tell you to write down your 3 preferable ratings and give you what they think you should get, right?

There are are a lot of post on this, I would paste the links but I'm on my phone and it doesn't work, search thru the Nuke forum here on this site, the information given is still current with everything I've read anywhere else.

Yes you give them a set of preferences and they choose which one you get. Based off your asvab score and the needs of the navy you are given a rating. EM deals with motors and generators, MM is pumps and valves, and ET deals with diagnosing and replacing circuit cards.
