Medical waiver

Can you become a Master at Arms if on your medical records there is a diagnosis of ADD. It was inclusive but it's on there any ways, it was back around age 13 and they did prescribe medicine. Everyone came to the conclusion that the Medication wasn't helping cause there was nothing to help. Haven't taken mediation since age 16 and Have been fine. If even I can't with it initially, can I get a waiver saying didn't need medication, misdiagnosis. Let me know! Thanks!

I cant say for sure for MA, but while I was in my recruiter's office a couple of weeks ago, another guy was in there asking about being a diver and his situation, from what I understood, is exactly like yours. Although he had stopped taking the medication years and years ago, the fact that he was prescribed medication at all was an automatic DQ. Now, diver is definitely a whole different ball game than MA, but it's probably helpful to know that medication can potentially be a DQ for certain rates. I'd ask your recruiter!

Point of clarification - yes it's a disqualification, that's where the waiver comes in. You wouldn't need a waiver if you weren't disqualified.
That being said there are situations when a waiver won't be granted. Im not sure the specific requirements for MA.
