So what if i get these before going to boot?

Devin 10-01-2013 10:22 AM

What if i already have some of those?

NavyPrincess 10-01-2013 11:12 AM

If you already have some, then you will not get the shot. I only got about 6 shots when I was there. The PB shot doesnt hurt that badly, it is just uncomfortable... unless your one of the lucky ones that are allergic to penicillin..

Just had a DEP meeting and had a guy told us about the shot process. The max you may get is 7 during P days unless you are a certain rate. If you got the shot before hand, then some still give it to you. You get 3 in each arm and the PB shot.

Was told Females don't get the PB shot, instead they have to swallow a pill. Not 100% sure if it's accurate but a guy who just got out of boot camp 2 months ago said so.

You get more shots through out boot camp to renew the ones you got during P days.

Dont believe it. Everyone gets a PB shot unless you are allergic to penicillin.

Just to clarify, you will receive an initial batch of shots during P-days and then a couple more around week six. For most recruits that will be it.
And females WILL receive the PB shot. Some recruits for very specific medical reasons will have to take pills as a substitute. So expect the PB shot and know that it is not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

p.s. I graduated boot a 3 weeks ago. This info is very current.
