Congrats. Make sure to work on treading while holding weight to chest. We had a class of 34, 8 passed dive prep.

Do you have a scuba license?

Also, can you pop your ears easily? If you have trouble with that, find ways to practice it. You are not going to have a fun time as a diver if you cant pop your ears easily.

My dad and I can sort of click our ears to pop them, as near as I can tell it is a muscle in my throat that squeezes the eustachian tube and sort of "pumps" the pressure. But not many people can do that.

When I took scuba in college the number one holdup for people when we finally got to the pool was not buoyancy, but ear popping. Some people just could not get their ears to pop no matter what, and so they could not really go more than 10-15 feet down.

thanks! yeah i have a buddy that passed through dive prep and he was telling me how i need to get my legs used to getting a beating and work on them like crazy! i tread water all the time i really don't have trouble with it but still nervous about the 25 lb plate! and with the ear popping that is honestly really easy when im down 10 ft i feel the pressure and i can pop them with out any real effort!
