i started researching the navy when I was starting high school and since then being apart of the aircrew is my dream. Right now I'm contracted as an AS , and have terrible vision. I'm going to get lasik from the navy whenever possible, I qualified for the aircrew on my line scores. So I guess what I'm getting at is what are my chances of getting in on a cross rate down the road ?

If you check out some of my other threads in the AW subforum, you can read more details... but the unfortunate short-end of it is that cross-rating into Aircrew is going to be nearly impossible (Small exception being Naval Special Warfare community as an AWR). We are currently in the middle of the P-3 to P-8 transition, which is expected to last at least until 2020 (2024 is more likely), as the AWF and AWV ratings are getting slashed by over 50% as a result... Adm. Greenert also just came out and announced his intentions to retire the entire fleet of MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters and replace them with drones... this is going to slash the AWS rating significantly. AWO is, and will continue to be, a strongly manned rating... however we are only open to Recruits coming out of RTC, and AWV's in specific year groups looking to convert. It's very unlikely we're going to accept outside ratings until the last P-3 goes into storage.

If Aircrew is what you want, but you're unable to get a contract for AIRC while in DEP, you're best bet for the foreseeable future would be to go CTT or CTI, and then try for Aircrew orders down the road... or go HM and try for SAR orders down the road.
