Not one i see too much but how is your pay during boot? When do you get your first pay? How much is withdrawn for all uniforms and such when you first arrive? Once it balances out what does it look like then?

You will generally get your first paycheck about a month into boot camp--not like you can easily check or anything (except when you go to the NEX). I think about $1800 is taken out for uniform items (but you also get a slight uniform allowance and will so every year after on the date that you shipped to boot). I was looking at about $1600 before pictures and divisional apparel--plus I got out of boot camp a few days before my next paycheck if you want to include that in that 2 month period.

Keep in mind that female uniform issue is typically a bit more than the males. I believe they took out $400 for initial issue and $800 for the second uniform isse. But depending on your rank you will have a good amount of money. Id say about $1300 or so with deductions. In bootcamp i was e2. So it may be more or less depending on your rank and if you get an allowance if you have dependents.

Just dont spend all of your money and the NEX or recruit heaven.

If someone could confirm this for me, but I believe during basic training I received Family Separation after the first 30 days. That's another $250.

Correct. And you should receive back pay for the first 30 days as well.

Did you have any older people in your division? I am 39 and hate to think I'll be the only old guy there.
