Well i ship out in 2 weeks from today and my recruiter told me a good way to get a leadership position was to learn cadences before hand since they ask in rtc if anybody knows some so i learned a few and also wrote my own so tell me what you think of it, its called MY RECRUITER LIED

Hey there sailor dont feel blue
my recruiter screwed me just like you

My recruiter told me if i join
Id be making bank and coin

My recruiter told me if i sign
id be driving a ferrari f9

My recruiter told me the navy is fun
And the chance of being deployed is slim to none

My recruiter told me im the best
And in bootcamp id get plenty of rest

My recruiter yold me life is swell
And in bootcamp my instructors wont yell

My recruiter told me in bootcamp
id be playing xbox when i cramp

Well in bootcamp i went to bed
and remembered what my recruiter said

Now my recruiter told me dont you quit
But now i realize he was full of shit

Now here i am expecting the best
but wheres my xbox and wheres my rest

That's not bad at all. I love cadences, always love learning new ones. The only thing is that at RTC, your division has to earn the right to march to cadence (PT is different, but on the street you have to earn it, its the mark of a senior division in training). Also, at RTC, all cadences you call on the street have to be straight out of the Red Book, no make your own allowed unfortunately.

Here's a few I know you might Like:

Steamroller (This is out of the red book, you can sing it at RTC):

I'm a steam roller baby, just a rolling down the line
I'm a steam roller baby, just a rolling down the line
So you better get out of my way now, before I roll right over you
It's just a little (Woooo) a little (Hey!) a little rock and roll
It's just the kind that (woooo) the kind that (Hey!) the kind that soothes the soul
So you better get out of my way now, before I roll right over you

I'm an RTC Recru-it, just a marching down the lane
I'm an RTC Recru-it, just a marching down the lane
So you better get out of my way now, before I march right over you
It's just a little (Woooo) a little (Hey!) a little rock and roll
It's just the kind that (woooo) the kind that (Hey!) the kind that soothes the soul
So you better get out of my way now, before I march right over you

[You can only sing this 3rd verse after passing battle stations]
I'm a US Navy Sailor, just a marching down the road
I'm a US Navy Sailor, just a marching down the road
So you better get out of my way now, before I march right over you
It's just a little (Woooo) a little (Hey!) a little rock and roll
It's just the kind that (woooo) the kind that (Hey!) the kind that soothes the soul
So you better get out of my way now, before I march right over you

Hey, Sailor [In the red book so you can sing it, but only after passing battle stations]:
Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been down to Coral Sea
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been out to Korea
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been down in Vietnam
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been to Desert Storm
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been to Afghanistan
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where Have You Been?
I've been to Iraq and Back
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

Hey, Sailor
Where are you going?
I'm going where I need to be
Fighting for Liberty
Fighting for Freedom

My Chief [PT Cadence, don't remember if I learned this at RTC or somewhere else]:
Let me tell you about my Chief
He's a mean motor scooter with bullets for teeth
Chief ran off in to the night
Man, you should've heard that fire fight
Well, Chief took a round right between the eyes
Thought for sure Chief was gonna die
Well, Chief jumped up fast as any man can
He killed 30 taliban hand to hand
On your left, left, lefty, right, left....

That really sucks that you can't use your own at rtc cause i was really hoping to use that one lol another one i learned which i'm pretty sure is a standard one is:

Everywhere we go
People want to know

who we are
so we tell them

were not the army
the backpacking army

we not the marines
they don't even look mean

were not the coast guard
the shallow water coast guard

were not the airforce
they don't even work hard

we are the navy
the worlds greatest navy

we are the navy
haze gray navy
underway navy

1, 2, 3, and 4
run me now run me now run me some more

5, 6, 7, and 8
pt pt this old bread

1 mouth
no sweat

2 mouths
better yet

3 mouths
out the door

4 mouths
too low

5 mouths
don't stop

6 mouths
till we drop

7 mouths
on a roll

8 mouths
getting old

9 mouths
fun run

10 mouths
just begun

hey hey
all right

hey hey
out of sight

hey hey
feeling great

got to get
in shape

That one is a PT cadence in the red book, I remember that from boot, minus the 1 mouth on part.

Here's another PT one I remember in boot:

Crackerjack (its in the Red Book, you can sing it for PT):
This Navy don't need no crackerjacks
Some day you might have to go to Iraq
If you do, you got to be ready
Quick to fight and WOOOO, Rock Steady

This Navy don't need no lazy man
Some day you might have to go to Iran
If you do, you got to be ready
Quick to fight and WOOOO, rock steady

Reminded me of another one for PT

Hey Army [Out of the red book]:
Hey, Army!
What are you doing?
Get in your tanks and follow me
I'm in the US (Clap) Navy
Hey, Marine Corps!
What are you doing?
Pick up your rifles and follow me
I'm in the US (Clap) Navy
Hey, Air Force!
What are you doing?
Get in your jets and follow me
I'm in the US (Clap) Navy
Hey, Coast Guard!
What are you doing?
Get in your dinghy's and follow me
I'm in the US (Clap) Navy
